Night on the town

Oliver Finn and I made an appointment at the beauty shop in Portland. A super froofy salon that by a posh stylist that we get along with quite well. The boy entertains himself with a spray bottle, luckily into his own face.

Afterward we went out to dinner, sidewalk seating for sushi and noodle soup. There was a fire alarm activation an we enjoyed the response of fire trucks. And one of the local drunks staggered by, offering a performance of his own "Mommy, that man is being weird." We talked a lot about being rude and someone who is not well and doesn't realize what he's saying. A few minutes later a police officer came by to apologize for the exposure saying "it was taken care of around the corner and he won't be coming back." Oliver Finn brings up this scenario a couple times a week and it has made me be particularly conscientious about how I explain things. I think we're doing a good job sorting out these life lessons
